Hi`ipaka LLC, Waimea Valley on the North Shore of Oahu (Haleiwa) is seeking a Conservation Land Technician to work with our Conservation Manager. Responsibilities include the maintenance, observation and data collection of the ecological resources and ecosystems in Waimea Valley and the care and maintenance of the natural resources and botanical gardens in Waimea Valley. 

Knowledge Requirements: 
Must be familiar with site maps and landscape plans. Must be familiar with inventory control, labeling and database systems for resources collections.
Must be knowledgeable about conservation issues and practices.
Must have working knowledge regarding the propagation, selection, planting, maintenance, documentation, labeling, database systems and mapping of botanical collections.
Must be people-oriented and able to work well with others.
Must be organized and self-starter. Must exercise independent judgment to prioritize projects and respond to situations as they arise without direct supervision.
Must have good oral and written communication skills.
Must project a professional demeanor.
Able to perform routine maintenance of tools, equipment, and vehicles

Educational and Training Requirements:
A Bachelor's degree in land resource management, conservation, horticulture, or other related field is preferable. 
Must have supervisory experience to lead staff and to be able to coordinate events.
Prior experience with Hawaii conservation issues and knowledge of the use of GPS and GIS preferred.
Must have a valid driver's license.
Must obtain a Valid Hawaii Hunting License within 3 months of start date. This will involve taking the Hawaii Hunter Education Course (if not already completed)
First Aid and CPR (training will be provided)
Should be familiar with all standard office equipment, and have working knowledge of standard software including Excel, Microsoft Word, Microsoft Outlook etc.
Must be able to drive a golf cart, pick-up truck, ATV, use firearms, heavy machinery, and herbicide applicators (training will be provided prior to authorization of use)

This is a full time position and regular attendance on a daily basis is required. Hi`ipaka LLC offers excellent benefits - medical, dental and vision coverage; 401K etc. 
Waimea Valley is a seven day a week operation and night and weekend work may be required.
