Pono Pacific Land Management, LLC was founded with a vision of helping Hawai‘i’s conservation agencies and landowners. Since 2000, we have beenproviding specializedservices to a wide variety of clients in almost every ecosystem in Hawaiʻi, primarily including:

• Native habitat restoration and landscape maintenance

• Invasive species eradication

• Ungulate-proof/predator-proof fence construction

• Predator and ungulate control

• Trail construction & maintenance

We are currently seeking applicants for the Conservation Field Crew Member position. The Conservation Field Crew Member carries out general conservation field work under close supervision by a Crew Leader and/or Project Manager. The ideal candidate will exhibit the values that steer our organization: character, humility, ʻohana (family/community-mindedness), service, excellence, and nobility. A Conservation Field Crew Member will act in the best interest of the company, act in the best interest of other employees, and act in a fair, safe, effective, and legal manner.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

· Valid driver's license and a clean driving record

· Reliable vehicle or other reliable form of transportation

· Ability to read, write, and understand (English) equipment and product labels for safety

· Positive attitude and willingness to learn

· Follow directions while working in small groups or independently

· Maintain excellent attendance and punctuality

· Maintain excellent communication, verbal and written (English)

· Willing and able to perform physically challenging work in harsh conditions for 8-10 hours a day

· Ability to lift and carry a minimum of 50 pounds

· Ability to pass a background check and/or gain military base access clearance

· Ability to camp in remote areas for multiple days at a time and/or travel occasionally

• Tree felling experience

• Chainsaw training

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

· Interest in preserving Hawaiʻi’s native plants, animals, and ecosystems

· Familiarity with flora/fauna (both native and invasive) species identification

· Familiarity operating power tools such as chainsaws, weed trimmers, etc.

· State of Hawaiʻi Pesticide Applicator license

· Experience operating/working with machinery (excavator, skid steer, etc.)

· Helicopter (passenger) experience

· Ability to travel inter-island for work

SCHEDULE

· Full-time (30-40 hours per week, largely dependent upon weather and projects)

COMPENSATION
