Become part of Hawaii’s conservation story

We are currently recruiting volunteers to join our 'AINA In Schools (Actively Integrating Nutrition and Agriculture In Schools) docent teams for our partner schools for the 2014-2015 school year. We will train docents to teach nutrition lessons for grades 2 and 6, or garden or compost lessons for Grades K, 1, 3, 4 or 5. Docent teams will teach these hands-on, cross-curricular, standards-based lessons one day a month, no experience necessary!

We ask for a school year long (Aug-May) commitment. If you value the importance of teaching the next generation how to make healthy food choices and connecting to the natural world through the joys of gardening, then you will find being a member of an 'AINA In Schools docent team very rewarding, fun and educational!

Interested volunteers must be able to attend the first of 4 quarterly trainings in Aug/Sept for the component they are interested in (Gardens or Nutrition) and commit to a docent team from August 2014 to May 2015. For more information please email volunteer@kokuahawaiifoundation.org.

'AINA In Schools is a program of the Kokua Hawai'i Foundation dedicated to connecting children to their land, waters and food to grow a healthier future for Hawai'i.
