As an Office Assistant you will provide clerical support for multiple scientific programs under the Office of Ecological Services. Each program has designated team members that are geographically dispersed on multiple Hawaiian Islands and non-foreign U.S. territories i.e., the Common Wealth of the Northern Mariana Islands, Guam, and the Island of Rota, Maui, Kauai, etc.

You will report to work at the Pacific Islands Fish and Wildlife Office located in Honolulu, Hawaii.

This position is eligible for a 12.25% Cost of Living Adjustment (COLA), in addition to the salary indicated above.

Arrange travel for all staff members, volunteers, and invitational travelers to non-foreign U.S. territories and non-domesticated locations. Often times, there are limited options for meeting travel requirements due to the remoteness of the location e.g., limited methods of transportation due to no air strip, migratory bird traveling patterns, inclement weather conditions, etc. Assist with the preparation of ecological studies, assessments, biological opinions, and technical assistance reports. This involves reviewing reports for grammatical clarity, format, and ease in readability. Collaborate in the maintenance and creation of databases and reports using programs such as Microsoft Access, Excel and online databases. Prepares document files, tracks and files office correspondence. Provide other office support such as answering phones and referring calls; greeting and directing visitors; monitoring office supplies inventory; and scheduling meetings.
