Roles and Responsibilities The primary role of the Senior Programme Co-ordinator will be to co-ordinate ICSF’s activities and to execute its Strategic Plan. This will include initiating and managing research and advocacy work, tracking campaigns, preparing training materials and sessions, as well as preparing project proposals, financial plans and progress reports. The Senior Programme Co-ordinator will be expected to work closely with the Secretariat, based in Chennai, India, for an initial period in order to develop the necessary understanding of the functioning of the organization. Whilst the Secretariat is based in India the Programme Co-ordinator may be based in any developing country. Requirements

Candidates meeting the following requirements may apply for the position: • Citizen and resident of a developing country; • Highly fluent in English; • Strong oral and written communication skills; • A good academic background in development studies, natural resources management or similar disciplines. A demonstrable understanding of the fisheries sector will be an advantage; • Good understanding of the dynamics of social movements. Direct experience of working with food producers—fishers, farmers, pastoralists etc.—is desirable; • Project coordination experience, with a practical understanding of financial and project management concepts and practices; • Proven ability to lead and manage project teams; • Ability to be a collaborative team player with excellent interpersonal skills • Ability to interact with a range of organizations and individuals, both state and non-state, at the local, national and international levels, and to energize and sustain networks; • Knowledge of French and Spanish will be an advantage; • Willingness and ability to travel extensively.

Terms and Conditions • This is a full-time position • An initial one-year contract is offered. It is envisaged that the contract will be renewable after the initial one-year period if mutually acceptable • Salary and working conditions according to experience, country of location and in line with established levels within the organization. • Starting date: as soon as possible
