JOB SUMMARY:

As the Mariana's Island Manager you will provide overall leadership to the planning, development, implementation, administration, and integrity of the Pacific Island Fish and Wildlife Office's activities in the Mariana Islands. The geographic scope of this position is the Mariana Islands which include the Territory of Guam and the Commonwealth of the Northern Mariana Islands. The Mariana Islands are a 466 mile archipelago in the Western Pacific consisting of 15 islands.

This position is eligible for a 13.84% Cost of Living Adjustment and an 11.16% Non-Foreign Post Differential, in addition to the base salary indicated at the top of the job announcement.

TRAVEL REQUIRED

Occasional Travel You will be required to travel on day trips/overnight within the Marianas, as well as to Hawaii and the U.S. mainland. On average travel will occur 3 days per month. RELOCATION AUTHORIZED

U.S. Citizenship and Background Investigation Transcripts required with application Initial Probationary Period DUTIES Represent the PIFWO and Fish and Wildlife Service as a technical expert on Marianas Archipelago fish and wildlife issues. You will provide office management and leadership services by setting priorities based on knowledge of resource priorities, applicable budgetary allocations, and directives. Responsible for all fiscal activities in your assigned geographic area, which include management of grants, agreements, and reimbursable funding. You will directly supervise staff providing technical, scientific, administrative, and policy support for activities. You will have significant responsibility for internal and external relations, which includes representing the PIFWO in meetings with international, Territorial, Commonwealth, State/Local governments, conservation groups and the public on fish and wildlife priorities that are regional and national in scope and may cross international boundaries. Review PIFWO program related documents including biological opinions, habitat conservation plans, program plans, letters, memoranda, strategic plans and other PIFWO documents for scientific and technical accuracy as well as consistency with PIFWO, regional and national Fish and Wildlife Service policies, directives, and goals.
