The mission of the National Tropical Botanical Garden is to enrich life by perpetuating tropical plants, ecosystems, and cultural heritage.

National Tropical Botanical Garden is recruiting for four (4) Full Time (Temporary) Education Program Teachers based at McBryde Garden to help with ‘Ike Mala Summer Program for 2 weeks (July 14-July 26, 2024).

The ideal candidates can work effectively with minimal supervision and have the ability to work well in a team. Must have experience working in education. Must be very enthusiastic and able to help deliver a memorable, impactful learning experience for course participants in an outdoor garden setting. Must be able to work with curriculum and instruction.

Knowledge of Hawaiian culture, practice and language is beneficial. Knowledge of Biocultural Conservation is a plus. Applicants must have good communication skills and the capability to communicate curriculum well with grade school age children. Having a CPR/ first aid certification is beneficial and being able to pass a pre-employment background check is mandatory. Minimum of High School diploma or equivalent required. 

Schedule: weekdays

Pay Range: $22-$25/ hr.
