Become part of Hawaii’s conservation story

The Tropical Hardwood Tree Improvement and Regeneration Center (TropHTIRC) now has a Research Experience for Undergraduates (REU) position available for a student to conduct a special project on koa forestry during the summer. The project will involve measuring and mapping koa trees on Hawaii Island to understand the genetics of important koa traits. The selected student work closely with UH faculty and staff and be provided training in scientific field techniques. Some GIS experience would be helpful. The hours will be flexible depending on the needs of the project. This will be a great learning experience for the right person.

We encourage smart, motivated students to apply by May 30. The pay is $12.50/hr. Please send a cover letter, resume, and unofficial transcripts to Dr. Faith Inman-Narahari at finman@hawaii.edu.
