Part-time Native Plant Restoration Assistant
 
Approximately two - three days per week, depending on experience and knowledge.  Flexible scheduling.  Hourly rate is negotiable based on experience, knowledge, and skills.
 
Job description:
Assist with native plant restoration efforts
  • Eradicate invasive species (herbaceous weed control and brush management) on slopes, stream banks, and in ponds
  • Assist with trail making and trail maintenance
  • Plant and maintain native groundcovers, trees, shrubs, and vegetative barriers as well as fruit trees and ornamentals
  • Use organic pest control products and methods
  • Fertilize trees, shrubs, groundcovers, and vegetative barriers
  • Propagate plants
  • Prune shrubs and trees as needed 
  • Weed whack adjacent areas, trails, etc.
  • Assist with miscellaneous farm tasks
Other requirements for successful applicant:
  • Fully vaccinated against Covid-19
  • Able to work independently
  • Attentive and able to communicate clearly
  • Able to lift a minimum of 30 pounds
  • Must have own transportation (Location is not on the bus line)
  • No drugs, alcohol, or smoking on the premises
Preference for applicants who have knowledge of and experience with native Hawaiian plants
