Visitor Program Assistant

We are now accepting applications for a casual Visitor Program Assistant at Limahuli Garden and Preserve. 

This entry-level position will primarily work in the Visitor Center greeting visitors and selling Garden tours and merchandise.

Duties include opening and closing the Visitor Center, welcoming, assisting and interpreting the Garden to visitors, selling tours and merchandise, running cash register; doing daily accounting of Visitor Program income, keeping the gift shop presentable and appealing to visitors, maintaining clean facilities, including restrooms, and cleaning and restocking Garden water stations.  Tour guide training is available for interested candidates.

Previous experience in retail and/or the visitor industry; as well as, practical or formal training in biology or botany, and Hawaiian culture and history is strongly recommended.  This position is for two days, Saturdays are required.
